Greenville Engagement | Ali & Tim

We’ve been taking a break from blogging to get caught up on our end of the year editing…where did 2011 go?!?! But we wanted to share another engagement session that we shot recently. My (Anita’s) nephew, Tim, is getting married and we’re honored to be photographing his wedding in June of next year! We’ve enjoyed getting to know Ali for the past few years and even photographed her sister Sarah’s wedding last year. We were excited about shooting Ali & Tim’s engagement photos and chose a location that we thought would fit them well. It turned out to be the perfect Fall backdrop!

And I leave you with one final image that I couldn’t resist posting. During my college years, I would sometimes use Tim and his sister as my little models for my photography classes. Here is one of my favorites of Tim that I entered into a photography contest in college…this is actually a photograph of a print, since it was back in the “olden days” of film.

Clemson Engagement | Taylor & William

We had a great time hanging out with Taylor & William at the South Carolina Botanical Gardens in Clemson for their engagement session and, with the two of them being Clemson grads and huge Tiger fans, we couldn’t miss getting some shots in Death Valley as well. We’re looking forward to their wedding in January!

While we were shooting around the stadium, we ran into Taylor’s sister, who is a Clemson Rally Cat!

Love the colors in this fun Fall engagement session and Charli’s stunning red hair completed the look perfectly! Ryan and I have to admit we’re a little partial to redheads, since our daughter has red hair! We first met Charli when we shot Ashley & Ryan’s wedding. Charli was one of the hair stylists working with Ashley and her bridesmaids that day at Outlook Hair Salon and she had just recently gotten engaged herself. We were excited when Charli and Rex chose us to photograph their big day next May! We enjoyed hanging out with them during their engagement session and can’t wait for their wedding in the spring!

Furman’s Daniel Chapel & Younts Wedding | Jeff & Heather

Jeff and Heather were married at Furman University’s Daniel Chapel with their reception at Furman’s Younts Conference Center. Heather stayed overnight at the Holiday Inn Express in downtown Greenville where we met her that morning.

Hurricane Irene was making her way up the coast the weekend of their wedding. We were all glad that she decided to stay away from SC on the wedding day!

This is the actual note that Jeff gave Heather when he proposed!

Embassy Suites Wedding | Ben & Erica {part 1}

Ben & Erica were married at the Embassy Suites in Greenville, SC.

Erica’s phone shows a photo of Ben who serves in the military and has been stationed in Japan during their engagement.

While Erica and her bridesmaids were getting hair and makeup done, Ben and his groomsmen hung out at the hotel.

Erica’s family helped decorate a special arbor for the ceremony…the arbor was made many years ago by Erica’s grandfather and used to stand in her grandparents’ yard.

The flower girl was also getting prepped for the ceremony.

The ring bearer’s “pillow” was bought during Erica’s recent trip to Japan to visit Ben.

Virginia Grown | Dannielle & Zane

During a recent trip to visit family in Danville, Virginia, I (Anita) photographed a college senior portrait session for my niece who’s graduating from Averett University. She also wanted some photos with her boyfriend and cute little puppy, Cash. We decided to do the shoot at Crossing at the Dan. There’s a great bridge there overlooking the Dan River.

You wouldn’t believe how hard it can be to get a puppy to look at the camera…Cash was VERY interested in anything and everything else that was going on, but he decided to cooperate with me for a second!

The clouds started turning dark on us, which meant a storm was on the way, but it gave us a great blue sky to work with!

“The Coke Wall” in downtown Greenville has a little competition…

The rain started in just as we were finishing the shoot, but we didn’t want to miss out on taking some pictures at this cool painted door. You’d never know that these next two shots were taken in the rain while I was standing under an umbrella!

And here are a few of my niece taken for her college graduation announcement. Congratulations Dannielle!!

And, if you were wondering what was up with the title of this post…we couldn’t resist taking some photos by this “Virginia Grown” sign. I’m proud to be Virginia grown too!
